Vijendra Singh - A speaker at NVIC’s September 2000 conference, Dr. Singh is currently working on his autoimmune theories for autism at the
Biotechnology Center at Utah State University. He also serves on the Scientific Board of the Autism Autoimmunity Project, a parents’ support group which, according to their website at www.gti.net/truegrit/ recently disbursed $36,615 to
Vijendra Singh and Andrew Wakefield for their research into MMR and autsim. Testified before the House Government Reform committee on April 6, 2000 regarding his opinion that the MMR vaccine can cause autism.

Burton Waisbren - Physician and critic of the Hepatitis B vaccine and the Lyme
disease vaccine. Testified before the House government Reform committee and
appeared at an NVIC press conference afterward. According to his website, he
offers an alternative treatment to cancer patients called “Coley’s Toxins,” for
which his disclaimer states he makes “no promise or even suggestion of
efficacy”. A search of Medline on July 2, 2000 yielded no publications by Dr.
Waisbren on vaccines except for two letters to the editors of medical journals.

Patti White - School nurse from Warrensburg, MO and author of a letter submitted to Congress allegedly on behalf of the Central District of Missouri Association of School Nurses and widely distributed on the Internet claiming that her school district has experienced a tremendous increase in children with autism and various developmental disorders. Michael Jinks, superintendent of the Warrensburg, MO school district, claimed in response to an inquiry to have been “surprised” by the content of the letter. Ms. White was contacted in writing on July 20, 1999 by Missouri Association of School Nurses official Tammy Horst to clarify their understanding that Ms. White in the future would not “in any way represent school nursing or any section of the association in any further interests...pursue(d) with this topic.”

Andrew Wakefield - speaker at NVIC’s conferences in 1997 and 2000 conference. His research into a connection between the MMR vaccine and autism (first published in 1998) is a popular topic among groups opposing vaccines and vaccine policy. The research has not been replicated.
